What we found
A garage floor takes what no other floor in the house takes. Tyres park on it while still hot, vehicles turn on the spot and grind at the surface, and oil drips onto bare concrete and soaks in. Concrete that has never been coated absorbs all of it.
How the work was done
- Pressure wash the whole floor.
- Degrease with a dedicated cleaner. Oil that has soaked into concrete does not come out with water, and this step decides whether the coating bonds at all.
- Lay the epoxy coating and broadcast the decorative flake into the wet surface.
How it turned out
The floor came out clean and even, and stays that way: the finish resists tyre heat, turning friction and dripped oil, and it wipes down instead of absorbing.
