Planning a painting project begins with understanding the existing space. These are the matters to work through during the project discussion; the agreed scope determines the actual sequence, responsibilities and timing.

1 Describe the space and the goal

Tell Mayda your city, whether the premises are residential or commercial, and whether the work is inside or outside. Overall photographs explain the space; close-ups help identify peeling, damage or other local issues.

2 Assess conditions and align the scope

Identify the walls, ceilings, trim or exterior surfaces involved. Note existing damage, areas to retain and repair requirements. Photographs cannot answer every site question, so arrange any necessary assessment and supporting information separately.

3 Confirm appearance and use

Discuss colour, sheen, existing materials, furniture, equipment, access and occupancy. Confirm relevant samples and product requirements before arranging the sequence suitable for the project.

4 Prepare and carry out the agreed work

Clarify responsibility for protection, moving items, cleaning and surface preparation. If site conditions or the scope change, discuss the difference and its effect on price and timing before confirming further work.

5 Check the completed scope together

Compare the result with the agreed surfaces and record follow-up items. Ask for information on the actual products’ drying, curing, cleaning and touch-up requirements, then plan reuse of the space accordingly.
