Common painting questions
Answers before your painting project: service areas, estimates, preparation, scheduling and Mayda’s commitments.
Which areas do you serve?
Mayda serves Greater Vancouver, including Vancouver, Richmond, Burnaby, West Vancouver, North Vancouver, Coquitlam, Langley, Surrey, White Rock, Delta. Tell us your project address so we can discuss access and scheduling.
Is an on-site estimate free?
Yes. Mayda offers free on-site estimates across Greater Vancouver. Photos are helpful before the visit; the surface condition and scope still need to be discussed.
Do you paint both homes and businesses?
Yes. Residential and commercial interior and exterior painting are our main services. We also discuss cleaning, roof coating, epoxy flooring, fences, decks and drywall repairs as part of the project scope.
Can I ask about a small project?
Yes. Share the city, the surfaces and their condition. Mayda can discuss whether the work fits the available schedule and what needs to be included in an estimate.
What information helps with an estimate?
A wide photo of the space, close-ups of damage, the surfaces to paint, access arrangements and your preferred dates. Identify any areas that must remain in use. Photos help explain a project but do not establish a fixed price by themselves.
What if I haven’t chosen a colour?
Bring photos of the space, furniture and materials you plan to keep, plus a few colour references. Test the proposed colour in the actual light before confirming the product and sheen. A screen cannot replace a painted sample.
Can we stay home or keep the business open?
Discuss occupancy before agreeing the schedule. The answer depends on the work zones, access, product requirements and the areas that must stay available. We can work through the sequence together.
Are protection, repairs and cleanup included?
These should be listed in the project scope. Confirm which furniture or equipment needs moving, which surfaces need repair, who handles each task and the expected handover condition.
How long will the painting take?
Timing depends on the area, preparation, number of surfaces, access and drying requirements. Exterior work also depends on suitable weather. Discuss your deadline early and confirm a project-specific schedule.
What workmanship warranty does Mayda offer?
Mayda provides a two-year workmanship warranty. If a problem within that period is caused by the workmanship, Mayda returns to put it right. Product warranties are separate; discuss any issue with the team and refer to the agreed project scope.
Is Mayda insured and BBB accredited?
Mayda has WorkSafeBC coverage for its crew and $2 million in third-party liability insurance. It has been BBB accredited since 2017 and holds an A+ rating, verified in September 2026.
Can we discuss the project in Chinese?
Yes. Projects can be discussed in English or Mandarin. Use the language you are most comfortable with to describe the work, questions and priorities.
