Mayda’s commercial painting services cover interiors and exteriors. Begin with two questions: what impression should the space make, and how must the work fit staff, customers and site use?

Commercial interiors

List walls, ceilings and trim by office, work zone, reception area and circulation route. Explain high-contact surfaces, existing brand colours and cleaning requirements before confirming products and appearance.

Commercial exteriors

Identify the elevations, entrances, trim and surrounding facilities involved. Distinguish signage, glazing, equipment and other areas to retain. Discuss routes for people and vehicles and requirements around neighbouring spaces early.

Put coordination into the first brief

Explain whether the premises remain occupied, timing restrictions, the site contact and property requirements. If zoning, particular hours or specified documents are needed, raise them for a suitability check instead of treating them as automatic features of every project.

Include supporting work where relevant

Industrial premises, epoxy flooring, wall repairs, wallpaper and other related services can be discussed separately. Commercial painting, facility coatings and floor systems have different assessment needs; confirm their individual scope and suitability.

Three jobs give a fair idea of the range.

A heritage house used as an office, Vancouver. Near West 8th Avenue and Oak Street, in a house kept in its original style and run as a workplace. The owner wanted one wall to carry the room, so it was painted in stripes — a decorative finish set out and masked by hand, not a roller job.

Commercial exteriors in Burnaby. Upper storeys reached from a boom lift, which is what a commercial elevation needs once it goes past ladder height.

A food plant in Delta. The flour silos outside had been in service long enough to rust. They were ground back to bare metal, given an oil-based rust-inhibiting primer, and top-coated by roller — the only way to coat a tank of that shape in that position.

Between them: a finish that has to look considered, an exterior that needs access equipment, and a plant where the point is stopping corrosion before it costs a tank.
